Francisco Silva Silva
Mr. Silva is the Chairman of the Board of Grupo Security since 1996 and Chairman of the Board of Banco Security, Administradora General de Fondos Security, Factoring Security, Inmobiliaria Security, Securitizadora Security and Travex Security. Mr. Silva is also member of the Board of Protecta Security (Perú) and Travel Security.
In 1987 Francisco Silva joined Security Pacific National Bank of California as its representative in Chile and as Chairman of Banco Security Pacific in Chile, which became Banco Security in 1990. In this role he led the creation of Grupo Security, today a financial conglomerate with operations in Chile, Peru and Hong Kong.
Between 1976 and 1979 he worked as Chief Financial Officer of Banco del Trabajo and then between 1979 and 1980 as Vice President of Chase Manhattan Bank N.A. Subsequently, from 1981 to 1984 he was Director of Operations at the Chilean Central Bank, and then between 1984 and 1986 he was the Chief Executive Officer of the pension fund manager AFP Unión. Between 2007 and 2017 he served as a Director, Vice President and then President of the professional business organization ICARE.
Mr. Silva has also been a board member of Cemento Polpaico since 2001, a cement producer controlled by Holcim, based in Switzerland.
Mr. Silva was previously the Vice Chairman of the board of AES Gener S.A. (1988-2000), a leading electric utility in Chile, Banmédica Group (1990-1992), a health services company, Enersis (1988-1991) and Chilectra (1988-1989), both electric utilities.
He holds a degree in civil engineering from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, and a degree in Engineering and a Master of Science from Stanford University.
