Minister Felipe Larrain and Economist Ricardo Caballero to Speak at Grupo Security Economic Seminar
At the event, entitled “A Solid Outlook in Unstable Waters”, Chile's finance minister and the Ford International Professor of Economics and director of MIT's World Economic Laboratory will analyze the current domestic and global economic landscape.
In order to analyze the current economic situation and provide macroeconomic perspectives on Chile and the world, this TUESDAY, August 13, Grupo Security will host a seminar entitled “A Solid Outlook in Unstable Waters”, featuring Felipe Larraín, Chile's finance minister, and Ricardo Caballero, the accomplished economist and Ford International Professor of Economics and director of MIT's World Economic Laboratory.
The event will be held at the W Hotel and is expected to attract an audience of around 1,000, including Grupo Security customers, executives from the Group's main companies, scholars and opinion leaders. The seminar will be streamed at www.security.cl.
Felipe Larraín, finance minister under President Sebastián Piñera, has a PhD in economics from Harvard University and a degree in business administration from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. He has broad experience as an international consultant, scholar, editor and author of more than 10 books published in Latin America, the United States, Europe and Asia.
Ricardo Caballero is recognized globally as one of the leading Chilean economists. He has a PhD in Economics from MIT, where he has been on the faculty since 1992. He has also lectured at Colombia University and has worked as a consultant for the IMF, World Bank, Federal Reserve and the European Central Bank, among other institutions. Since obtaining his degree in business administration from Pontificia Universidad Católica, he has authored several research papers on macroeconomics, finance and the international economy.
